Writer-director of films like Jajantaram Mamantaram, Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa, Soumitra Ranade has just finished the book – his first action-adventure novel for children – Bhrigu and the Palace of Mirror, which promises to be a hit among the kids all over.
Soumitra was also the writer-filmmaker-animator of acclaimed films like Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai? and Jajantaram Mamantaram, and this next book is written and illustrated by Ranade which is being published by Hachette India. This exciting will be out on October 20 this year on Amazon, Kindle, Flipkart and available at all bookstores across India.
Having written-directed-produced and animated acclaimed children films like Jajantaram Mamantaram, Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa and written-illustrated numerous books for children, the creative filmmaker and out-of-the-box thinker Soumitra Ranade is now coming out with his first action adventure novel for children, ‘Bhrigu and The Palace Of Mirror’.
Soumitra Ranade’s last acclaimed film was Jajantaram Mamantaram (20030 an Indian fantasy action comedy film directed by himself and produced by Arunima Roy. The film was based on Jonathan Swift’s 1726 novel Gulliver’s Travels and it had Javed Jaffrey and Gulshan Grover in lead roles alongwith a cast of Manav Kaul, Joy Fernandes, Nishith Dadhich, Dilip Joglekar, Kavita Murkar and Dipannita Sharma. The story of Jajantaram Mamantaram is about Aditya who is carried to a magical island where he helps the tiny locals defeat the giant Jhamunda.
Not new to the world of publishing and filmmaking, Soumitra’s animation studio has also done award-winning films like Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa, Bombay Rose and Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Ja Raha Hoon.
